Fernando Valdez. AI software engineer, founder of Futer.
By day I put AI agents to work on a regulated platform at ioBuilders, and they cannot change anything without a person. By night I build Futer, and Luckybites with a co-founder. Both are live.

~/agents
Agents that cannot change anything. On purpose.
Since early 2026 AI agents have been part of the daily operations of my team, on a regulated digital trust platform for the legal sector.
They triage incidents, review dead-letter queues and merge requests, and draft release notes from a shared standards corpus. They read logs, queues and code, and they propose. A person approves. That one rule is what made it possible to put them there at all.

~/seat
Looking for a Futer co-founder.
One seat, for the person who owns community and growth. The engineering is covered.

Amateur football gets organised in group chats. Forty messages to field eleven players, two dropouts at nine, and a running tab everybody remembers differently.
Futer replaces that. You find a match near you and join with one tap; when someone drops out the waitlist fills the spot, and the teams come out balanced by rating. It is live on the web and piloting in Barcelona, built on my own. What it needs next is not more code: it is someone who owns the players, the venues and the word of mouth.

The agents on my team cannot change anything →Started Futer, on my own. Amateur football, organised.

Luckybites →Joined ioBuilders on the frontend, moved to the backend team four months later, and stayed.
Barcelona. First developer job, building interfaces in React for client projects.
Buenos Aires. A business degree, then admin work, and a habit of automating my own job with scripts. That was the door in.

Are you available for client work?
Yes, by project and one engagement at a time, alongside ioBuilders and my own products. The best fit is a backend that has to go from nothing to production, or a product that needs its first engineer. Moodcycling has been live for years and I still maintain it.
What does the co-founder seat at Futer involve?
Community and growth. The product is live on the web and piloting in Barcelona, and the iOS and Android apps are in packaging. I own the engineering. The seat is for someone who owns the players.
How do you use AI agents?
Daily, and read-only by default. On my team they triage incidents, review dead-letter queues and merge requests, and draft release notes from a shared standards corpus. Nothing mutates production without a human approving it.
Do you do brand partnerships?
Yes, with companies building AI, developer tools, software and hardware. I use the product on real work first and publish what happened, on X and here. You check the facts, the verdict stays mine, and every paid or gifted post is labelled. The terms and the inquiry form are on the Collaborate page.
Where are you based and when can we talk?
Barcelona, on Central European Time. I was born in Buenos Aires, so evenings here overlap with working hours across the Americas. Email is the fastest way in; I usually reply within the day.
Which stack do you work in?
By day Groovy and Java 21 on Micronaut, RabbitMQ and PostgreSQL, deployed on Kubernetes with ArgoCD. By night TypeScript, Next.js, NestJS and Supabase. I pick boring, well-understood tools and spend the novelty budget on the product.
